I spent 15 minutes with one of my favourite podcasters today โ€“ Doug Bopst.

Time was tight this week.
Reviewing podcasts is one of my
favourite ways to recharge and refocus on what matters.

With time at a premium, I couldnโ€™t listen to anything long.

The answer?

Dougโ€™s story is uniqueโ€”he turns lifeโ€™s challenges into motivation for success.

In this weekโ€™s review, I distilled 5 Cheat Codes from Dougโ€™s podcast that made sense to meโ€ฆ

Yesterday is gone.
Live in the moment and build the future.

Living in the past or fearing the future can make us forget where we are and whatโ€™s happening now.

I sometimes struggle with this one. I come from a background of always saying โ€œyesโ€ and stretching myself thin.

Itโ€™s important to have healthy boundaries and stick to them. Keeping my word matters, but sometimes that means learning to say no.

A recent wake-up call reminded us of the need to prioritise health. Being part of building a business often means burning the candle at both ends, but I canโ€™t help others if Iโ€™m not healthy myself.

As a parent, my health is also a responsibility to my kids. We only get one life.

Gratitude is a really big part of my life.

Sometimes we forget all the beautiful things in our life, and focus on the challenges in-front of us.

It's the things that you want to change, that you have to learn to be grateful for.

Why? Because then you can slowly move towards changing them.

But if you're always spending time feeling like you're stuck, or feeling sorry for yourself -

Then, you'll never be able to move past it.

Iโ€™ve spent a the majority of my life avoiding asking for help.

In professional environments Iโ€™ve had limiting beliefs where-by โ€˜ifโ€™ I ask for help its a sign of weakness.

However, as Iโ€™ve matured the more I ask for help -

Iโ€™ve realised itโ€™s a display of wisdom acknowledging my limitations.

Asking for help creates opportunities for growth by collaborating with others. Being exposed to different perspectives etc...

Iย tell my daughter:

โ€œIf you only do whatโ€™s easy, youโ€™ll never know what youโ€™re capable of.โ€

Thereโ€™s a lot to unpack in this 15-minute podcast. These were the 5 Cheat Codes that resonated with me.
