The post
I am reminded of the servant with two talents.
But for the majority of my life, I've acted like the servant with one.
The Parable of the Talents has been playing on my mind and heart for some time.
We are given the tools and resources that are of our ability.
And we can go much farther than we think we can.
But in our heads, we think that we need more.
Money. Connections. Skills. Time... a job maybe?
This couldn't be further from the truth.
Faith is believing and taking action in what the Father has provided, and accepting that the outcome as good.
In a time where people rely so heavily on technology (this includes myself), we turn to it and look at all the 'things' we think it can achieve or take away.
But technology is nothing more than resources being applied to our culture in different ways.
When everything moves so fast, I wonder what is foundational, what is true and what is everlasting.
There's only one thing that is everlasting.
God.
Have a blessed day! (And go and use your God-given talents)
NB
A talent was not a skill.
It was a weight of silver, worth about 6,000 denarii (variations based on Hebrew vs Greek).
A denarius was a day's wage, so one talent was roughly 20 years of work.
